From original pieces as diverse as Empire sandalwood cabinet chests to ornate Mogul window balconies and Indian antiquities, Matthew has more recently expanded the range to include some highly saleable recycled pieces.

These take old pieces that may no longer have a use in their original form, but are still beautiful; whether it’s incredible carving, beautifully aged paintwork or ancient teak wood dark with age - and converts then into something useful today. So painted or carved ceiling panels might become unique coat hook panels, or ancient wooden seed dispersers become beautiful candle stands. Giving new lease of life to these wonderful pieces that were created with such skill and artistry and out of such high quality materials that age has only improved them.

It’s impossible to list the whole range of items available since so many are utterly unique one off pieces, but there are some core types highlighted below, although obviously since each one is original and has been made and used differently they all have their own individual charm.

The range includes:

• Original painted furniture; cupboards ands cabinets, chests and shelving with wonderful patinas that no amount of stippling or sponging, bagging or dragging can recreate

• Classic antique teak blanket boxes, heavy teak wooden bowls and pots created using the same techniques used since medieval times makes them perfect for period settings

• Wonderful decorative mirror frames - some ornate, many simple and classic that would fit in any interior style from French antique to country farmhouse to modern industrial

•  Hand carved stone bowls and dishes with a million different uses and such a classic simple look created from the simple beauty of the stone itself

• Classic and painted hook panels created from old wood panels and cast iron hooks

• And so, so much more
